Job Description

The Robotics and Automation Unit of Eurecat Technology Center (Barcelona) is looking for a highly motivated researcher to work on Advanced Manipulation and Human-Robot Interaction.

The candidate shall work on different research projects dealing with industrial and collaborative robots and mobile manipulators with focus on planning, control under interaction of physical forces. The main responsibilities will focus on the scientific contribution and technological developments including

  • Dexterous and collaborative robotics manipulation and human-robot interaction.
  • Participate in the definition and development of new robotic platforms
  • Develop, validate and maintain code
  • Sporadic support/supervision to hardware and prototype integration and maintenance
  • Lead, plan and execute demonstrations
  • Participate in scientific publications
  • Support to project management to ensure proper project execution
  • Establish and maintain contact with clients and partners in consortium

Our laboratory is located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the outskirts of Barcelona city (Spain). Barcelona besides being easily connected to the rest of Europe, provides a great quality of life and a great robotics ecosystem full of initiatives, research groups, robotics companies and interesting events. Requisitos

Required skills

  • MSc or PhD in Robotics or related discipline
  • Proven experience in planning for manipulation
  • Knowledge about ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Advanced experience with C++, reusable code and software documentation.
  • Team spirit and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility and creativity.
  • Very good knowledge of English is required.
  • Experience with robotics mechanics and electronics would be considered relevant as well.

Additional requirements

  • Familiarity with mobile manipulators
  • Knowledge about ROS Industrial
  • Knowledge about industrial robot programming (ABB, KUKA, UR…)Availability to travel occasionally
  • Availability to work in client facilities temporally
