EURECAT - Technology Center of Catalonia is seeking a highly motivated RESEARCHER IN NEUROSCIENCE / EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY WITH EXPERTISE IN BRAIN-COMPUTER INTERFACES AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE for its Perception & Cognition Line (Data Science & Big Data Analytics Technological Unit).
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
- The researcher will participate in the proposal and execution of applied research projects at the Perception and Cognition research group and will be responsible of carrying out experimental psychology/cognitive neuroscience studies, from their design and implementation, the recruitment and data collection, and the analysis and reporting of results.
- These studies will consist mainly, but will not be limited to, the development of techniques for robust measurement of emotional/cognitive reactions through physiological sensors (electroencephalography, peripheral physiology), as well as common sensor devices such as cameras, microphones, accelerometers, etc., by means on the application of signal processing and machine learning methodologies, and with the general aim of developing real-time interactive applications such as neurofeedback techniques.
- The researcher will also participate in the preparation of research and development project proposals (e.g. CDTI Cervera calls, MICIU PCPPs, etc.), from taking requirements with the client to proposing the technical solution and writing the work plan, and finally, write basic technical documentation, related to the solutions implemented in the projects.
- The researcher will participate in writing articles and presentations to share research and development results with the academic community and industry
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or related discipline with a strong research background in brain-computer interfaces. A degree in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering with acquired research experience in neuroscience in postgraduate studies will be also welcome.
- Experience in areas such as computer vision, audio and image processing, etc., knowledge of Python and its most important libraries in the fields of machine learning (scikit-learn), deep learning (PyTorch or tensorflow) will be strongly appreciated.
- The ideal candidate should have a proven experience on experimental design and data analysis with behavioral and physiological data, good commandment of English as well as writing and oral presentation skills.
