Job description

The Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit in Eurecat develops solutions for obtaining advanced light materials and functional surfaces which can withstand demanding mechanical and environmental requirements.

Metallic and Ceramic Materials expertise are mechanical behaviour, fatigue and fracture of materials, light alloys, new processes for advanced materials, corrosion and deterioration, tribology and surface technology and they are searching a researcher in microchips and microelectronics to carry out research projects.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Find ways to collaborate and strengthen relationships with industry, universities, and technological centers in the field of microchips and microelectronics.
  • Participate in R+D projects by collaborating to execute and manage metallic and ceramic materials projects that are applied to microelectronics.
  • Develop and propose initiatives to access national and international funding programs that will fuel future projects.
  • Develop technological solutions and aid in the transfer of knowledge to the industry

 

 

Requirements

Eligibility criteria

Studies:

  • Electronics, Physics, or related studies, PhD degree.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous experience in projects related to advanced materials, microchips or microelectronics.
  • Knowledge of microelectronic component manufacturing processes and characterization of electrical properties.
  • Experience in managing R&D projects and preparing funding proposals (Horizon Europe, CDTI).
  • Previous experience in collaboration with companies in the technology or microelectronics sector and.
  • Knowledge of current trends and challenges in the semiconductor industry. 

Languages

  • High level of English (written and spoken)
  • A good level of Spanish or Catalan is an asset.
