Position

Technical Leader in Data Science

In the Big Data & Data Science Unit of Eurecat we’re passionate about Data Science. We feel that we can make a difference using our knowledge to boost AI and data-driven capacities of the organizations in our ecosystem. We design, build and validate innovative data analytics solutions to optimize business processes and improve decision-making by creating and adapting new technologies and algorithms.

 

We are looking for a motivated Senior Technical Leader in Data Science with hands-on experience as a project Manager in behavioural analytics, user profiling, recommendation systems and predictive / generative IA.

 

The ideal candidate comes from a Computer Science background with experience in Data Science or Artificial Intelligence – Machine Learning. He/she should have already been exposed to these fields and successfully developed advanced data solutions, ideally in the tourism or mobility domains. He/she will lead a small team of junior researchers. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Discussing with stakeholders to understand and formulate business/research problems.
  • Identify or gather data, formulate hypotheses, and test them by using the data.
  • Design and implement technological solutions to solve the previously defined problems. This includes coding (mostly in python and using AI libraries).
  • Lead and provide support to the team composed by two junior researchers.
  • Lead tasks or work packages in innovative projects (European, National, Local).
  • Report your results in various degrees of formality – from your teammates to project stakeholders.
  • Seek funding opportunities and take part in writing proposals.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
  • At least 5 years of experience using Python and the various libraries for data science, prediction, profiling and machine learning. Other programming languages will be weighed up.
  • Curiosity and motivation to tackle different problems, from different application domains.
  • Team worker, objective-oriented, and trustworthy. Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Consistent with your work and open to new challenges.
