Job description

Are you prepared to explore the next frontier of AI-driven manipulation? The Robotics and Automation Unit of Eurecat Technology Center (Barcelona) is looking for a highly motivated AI engineer to work in Robotics Manipulation. Join our vibrant research team and lead the way in developing novel mobile manipulators with an emphasis on overcoming challenging physical interactions. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

As a key member of our team, you will: 

  • Pioneer dexterous manipulation techniques, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in human-robot collaboration. 
  • Advance the field of robot skill learning, leveraging state-of-the-art Deep Reinforcement Learning and Transformer-based Behaviour Cloning algorithms to imbue robots with unparalleled adaptability and finesse. 
  • Translate innovative ideas into robust code, validating and refining your solutions to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Provide invaluable support in integrating and maintaining robotic systems, ensuring seamless operation and performance optimization. 
  • Collaborate on scientific publications, sharing your insights and discoveries with the global research community. 
  • Play a pivotal role in project management, ensuring the successful execution of our initiatives and fostering productive partnerships with clients and consortium partners. 

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS  

  • A passion for Robotics and AI, backed by an MSc or equivalent experience in Robotics, AI, Computer Vision, or a related field. 
  • Hands-on experience with Deep Learning, with a track record of applying AI techniques to solve complex robotics problems in real-world scenarios. 
  • Proficiency in ROS 2, along with strong programming skills in C++ and Python. 
  • A collaborative mindset, coupled with the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey complex ideas and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a relentless drive to innovate in the field of robotics. 
  • Willingness to occasionally travel, seizing opportunities to engage with clients, partners, and collaborators around the globe. 

 

WHAT CAN EURECAT OFFER YOU?  

Our group is specialized in applied research and development on Service and Industrial Robotics. Our objective is to increase the level of robot autonomy and intelligence to enable more complex robotics behaviours.
